Lake Tahoe and Truckee inventory of available homes for sale has hit an all-time low. Affordability may quickly become a factor to slow market activity as home prices are driven upward. We finished 2020 with record breaking sales activity, and even if you purchased your Lake Tahoe and Truckee home in the last 2 years, you will still have an increase in equity. When looking at the year end Lake Tahoe market report for 2020, the number of single family homes sold was 33% higher than in 2019. Sales volume was a whopping 2.7 billion and the average sold price increased 14% in 2020. There were 2350 transactions, which was 33% higher than the 1763 homes sold in 2019.
Lower inventory and the continued increase in demand for the quality of life Lake Tahoe provides has priced many people out of the market.
