Discover Floriston California
In the adjacent hillsides behind Glenshire, California, the quaint community of Floriston has a rich and colorful history. Located in Nevada County, on the California side of Lake Tahoe, Floriston and Boca are two historically significant towns. Both towns are known for their roles in the state's industrial and transportation history during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Boca, located near the confluence of the Little Truckee and Truckee Rivers, served as a railroad hub from the 1860’s. Today, Boca is primarily known for outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, hiking, and camping, as it is situated near the Boca Reservoir and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
