Spring Skiing and Après Ski Lake Tahoe

cocktails at bar

March came in like a lion to Lake Tahoe, with a storm that delivered 10 feet of snow in the area ski resorts. We are expecting more rounds of storms over the last week of March, which means spring skiing at Lake Tahoe will be epic! Palisades Tahoe extended their closing date to July 2nd, and other resorts will be open until the end of April and beginning of May.

In addition to less crowds and longer daylight hours, more comfortable weather means that many people wear interesting costumes as they ski and ride through the mountains. After a day of skiing, Après Ski specials at the various resorts and restaurants are a perfect way to relax and unwind with friends.

Here are a few of Lake Tahoe’s best Après Ski venues:

Located within Palisades Tahoe, Uncorked is perfect for Après Ski if you are looking for a delicious glass of wine after the slopes. The atmosphere is cozy and mellow, with a knowledgeable staff to help you choose a glass, bottle, or wine tasting that you’ll love. Uncorked often has specials that include cheese plates or date night deals. You might also enjoy 12 beers on tap and nachos at Rocker, or a quaint Irish atmosphere at the Auld Dubliner. Another popular resort, Northstar California Resort offers several Après  Ski venues in the heart of the Village at Northstar. Warm up with your group with drinks at the Bourbon Pub firepits and treat yourself to reinvented pub fare by internally renowned restauranteur, Michael Mina. Located at the end of the Village Run, enjoy an inviting atmosphere with craft cocktails. Kids will love making s'mores around the fire pits. They also offer relaxed dining choices, perfect for a stress-free nightlife in Northstar. Click here for more Northstar Après Ski venues.

Located on the west shore, overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe, Sunnyside restaurant and lodge offers a truly relaxing Après Ski experience. Enjoy a signature cocktail off of their “Lakeside Libations” menu, and enjoy the area's best fried zucchini. On Friday nights, they also present live music, and the bar area also features a roaring fire.

The ski chalet inspired restaurant, Lone Eagle Grille, is located across from the Hyatt Resort in Incline Village, Nevada. Enjoy drinks and appetizers lakeside, on the outdoor patio, warmed by a large fire pit. With live music, the Lone Eagle Grills is a great place to spend a few hours unwinding after your runs. Enjoy wine, cocktails and delicious appetizers, or head into the restaurant for 5 star dining with a huge stone fireplace at its center.

Wolfdale’s has been a local favorite because of its unique and delicious appetizers and cozy bar. Their menu is a fusion of Asian and European flavors and they have provided lakeside dining in Tahoe City for 40 years. Enjoy a full bar and appetizers that feature smoked trout and poke cones. You can order their amazing seafood dishes at the bar or sit at a table within the restaurant.  For restaurant dining, reservations may be required.
